What Is an EC/KBC Chip in a Laptop?
An EC/KBC is an embedded controller used on a laptop motherboard. Depending on the board design and firmware, it can participate in keyboard control, power-button handling, charging coordination, thermal management, fan control and communication with other motherboard circuits.
